Blanck Mass will be performing at Roadburn 2020 as part of James Kent’s curated event

We’re thrilled to announce that Blanck Mass will be performing at Roadburn 2020 as part of James Kent’s curated event. The brainchild of Benjamin John Power (Fuck Buttons), Blanck Mass is a pulsating, anthemic collossus of synth driven electronics.

Among the list of achievements that Blanck Mass can be proud of is soundtracking the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony in London – and come April 2020, Power will be able to say he also played Roadburn! Whilst we might not have an audience of 900 million watching what goes down in Tilburg that day, we can be sure to give Blanck Mass a customary Roadburn welcome.

Of his choice, James comments: “Blanck Mass is undoubtedly an authority when we’re talking about today’s electronic music. Mixing industrial beats with some harsh noise, techno and an overall oppressive sound palette, Blanck Mass is proof that electronic music can deliver some truly aggressive tones and isn’t just about dancing.”

Soundtracking the emotions that accompany personal and societal loss, intimate and global grief – the latest Blanck Mass album, Animated Violence Mild, is direct, honest and absolutely drenched in melody. Surely this can’t fail to make multiple appearances on year end lists? Whilst the subject matter might not be cause for a party, the hook-laden accompaniment means that sturdy dancing shoes are still a necessary part of your Roadburn 2020 wardrobe.
