Australian screamo four-piece Blind Girls have squeezed no less than twelve songs into the 22-minute run time of their latest album, An Exit Exists. The frenetic pace is matched by a searing delivery across the dozen tracks that combine textbook precision, melody and truly blistering vocals. They’ll be bringing these songs to life on stage at Roadburn as they head to Europe for the very first time.
Vocalist Sharni Brouwer leaves it all on the studio floor as she exorcises memories and experiences of abuse; raw emotion permeates every line of her purging and seeps throughout the album. By all accounts, the Blind Girls live experience is even more eviscerating than on record, so we’re preparing ourselves for quite the intense experience in April.
Of their performance at Roadburn, the band comments:
“We have been intending to tour Europe over the past four years but unable to make it work for various reasons. To be able to finally come over and to play Roadburn as a part of that is incredible for us. Roadburn has consistently had such amazing lineups, so to be considered to play is an opportunity that we are looking forward to.”
