Bliss Signall to fuse the jagged edges of blast beats and black metal with the hypnotic tremors of dark electronics at Roadburn 2019

Roadburn has proven over and over that what might look odd on paper works well in the flesh. We thrive on the jarring juxtapositions of challenging music, of blending genres and of pushing restrictive boundaries. Which is why Bliss Signal are so alluring; we recognise kindred spirits.

The brainchild of Roadburn alumni, James Kelly (Altar of Plagues, WIFE), and DJ/producer Jack Adams (Mumdance), the two halves of this whole bring something truly pioneering to the table. Fusing the jagged edges of blast beats and black metal with the hypnotic tremors of dark electronics, Bliss Signal have struck a precarious and exhilarating balance.

Their self-titled debut album has been out for mere weeks at the time of writing, but it has already had such an impact on us. If the record takes us on such a dark and haunting trip, we can’t wait to see what the live performance does. Our flesh is willing, our minds are ready – bring on Bliss Signal.
