Bruit≤ collaborate with brass section to expand their sonic possibilities

As we all know by now, Roadburn wasn’t able to exist in its usual form in 2021, so we went online and put together a programme of performances, premieres and more for Roadburners around the globe. A standout of Roadburn Redux was the collection of bands showcased under the banner of Pelagic Presents. The German label, helmed by The Ocean’s Robin Staps, has a roster jam-packed with talent – both established acts and must-see up-and-comers. As we worked towards our 2022 edition, we decided we would bring Pelagic Presents with us as we return to the physical realm.

Bruit≤ are a French post-rock-infused-with-classical stylings quartet hailing from Toulouse. They specialise in grandiose-sounding compositions capable of transporting listeners somewhere else entirely. For a taste of their most ambitious work, head to Bandcamp to check out the excellently named release, The Machine is burning and now everyone knows it could happen again.

Performing at Roadburn as part of a Pelagic Records showcase, Bruit are rolling out the big guns to give us a show that will be unmissable. The core four-piece will be joined by additional musicians – playing horns and trombones – to help bring their beautifully haunting pieces of music to life. Together they will perform select cuts from The Machine is burning… and previous EP Monolith.

The band comment:
“We are very grateful for the response to Bruit since the release of our first album last April. It looks like 2022 has more great things in store for us and we are at a loss for words to express how lucky we are. After years of exceptional programming that has allowed us to discover unique bands, Roadburn Festival has become one of the most iconic festivals in Europe and the world and we are extremely honoured to be part of the 2022 edition.”

With the ink barely dry on their Pelagic contract, the label’s newest signing will demonstrate exactly why they’re a must-see proposition.
