As much as Amenra vocalist Colin H. van Eeckhout clearly gives it his all within a band formation, his solo work as CHVE is an opportunity to cater only to his own deepest creative desires; no compromises, no outside influences. Through this solitary pursuit, Colin has carved out a sound that is familiar in its heaviness, but markedly different from his work in Amenra. We’re delighted to be welcoming Colin to Roadburn for a CHVE set this coming April.

As champions of heaviness in all its forms, we’re enthusiastic supporters of Colin’s sonic explorations both within and outside the confines of Amenra. On his latest release, Kalvarie, through an eerie atmosphere a delicate fragility is revealed by way of a hurdy-gurdy and hypnotising soundscapes. The meditative nature of his compositions allow listeners to get lost in the world he creates, with tantalising glimpses of the man behind the music echoing throughout

Colin comments: As much as I have played at Roadburn festival in the past, I am once again a proud part of this year’s line up. I missed the Roadburn family more than I could imagine. I look forward to exploring this edition’s present bands and artists. Let us gather and dissolve in this year’s sounds.”

Immediately following his performance as part of De Mannen Broeders, Colin will return to the stage for an intimate performance of his solo material. Let’s not miss this.
