Pijn & Conjurer play: Curse These Metal Hands at Roadburn 2020

The underground metal scene in the UK is in rude health – and we demonstrated this at Roadburn 2019 by showcasing the best of what Holy Roar Records had to offer. Among the bands that played were Conjurer and Pijntwo bands that embody so much of what is innovative and exciting about British music at the moment. In 2018 the two bands united under the Curse These Metal Hands banner to create new, original music that was released via Holy Roar this year.

The results were a luscious swamp of post-metal effervescence, made all the more alluring by the visible camaraderie between the two united bands. If you spent time this year queuing to get into see either Pijn or Conjurer at the packed out Hall of Fame, then rejoice – that same energy and verve will be brought back to Roadburn at the Koepelhal in 2020 as Curse These Metal Hands get us all in High Spirits.

The ensemble comment: “Playing Roadburn is the highest honour imaginable. Our weird pseudo band couldn’t have a more fitting home than here – a sore thumb that fits comfortably among a sea of other beautiful sore thumbs.”
