Curses are the soundtrack to the movie loops in your head; those fleeting moments where life feels like it is playing out on the big screen – hypercolour sunsets, neon-lit dance floors, salt, sweat, skin, and high emotion. The brainchild of Berlin-based Luca Venizia, Curses combines post-punk, electro, EBM and more – and he will be making his Roadburn debut this April.
The latest Curses album, Another Heaven, was co-produced by the iconic Johnny Jewel who also released it via his Italians Do It Better label. Synth-soaked sounds ebb and flow, pulsating raw punk energy is tempered by ethereal vocals and romantic embellishments. Through a broad back catalogue and a seemingly endless collection of artistic collaborations and compilations, Curses has carved out a niche, building the foundations of his own creative universe.
We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to step inside that universe when Curses take to the stage at Roadburn. Luca tells us that he’s “looking forward to playing some romantic acid punk vibes at the infamous Roadburn. Freak flags fly high.”
