SVART SESSION: Dust Mountain's international live debut
SVART Records is at the heart of some of the most exciting and boundary pushing releases that cross our paths here at Roadburn HQ. For Roadburn Redux we’re delighted to have teamed up with the venerable label to present a handful of performances by bands that truly epitomise what the label is all about. It gives us great pleasure to introduce these bands to you, and bring them to your homes this April under the banner of Svart Sessions.
From a dark, damp Wastment of Tampere, Finland, rises a new musical force in the form of Dust Mountain. At the core of the five-piece is the songwriting duo, siblings Henna Hietamaki (Cats of Transnistria) and Toni Hietamaki (Oranssi Pazuzu, Waste of Space Orchestra); the ensemble also features members of Hexvessel / Dark Buddha Rising and Death Hawks. This considered, it was hardly a leap of faith to put our trust in Svart when they first told us about the band. Promising occult-soaked psychedelic folk rock, we’re already anticipating great things from Dust Mountain.
As they prepare to release their debut album later this year, they will be exclusively introduced to an international audience via Roadburn’s Svart Sessions.
They told us: “We are very excited to be part of the online version of the amazing Roadburn Festival this year. We will take this show as a special opportunity to celebrate our upcoming debut album and are very much looking forward to presenting this music to the people of Roadburn. “
The feeling is most definitely mutual.
Dust Mountain will perform at Svart Sessions – part of Roadburn Festival which will take place between April 16-18.
