Gallops to bring contorted futurism, from the depths of Welsh lockdown

Back in 2018, Gallops made their debut at Roadburn Festival – the Welsh trio brought the party to Het Patronaat with a late-night showcase of pulsating electronica and sweeping experimental rock. Now they’re back for Roadburn Redux, and will be beaming their out-there beats to wherever you are in the world with a virtual live performance.

Gallops have been defying the boundaries of rock since forming in 2007, picking up fans across a wide spectrum of genres along the way. Building upon their roots while also pushing boundaries even further and ramping up the emphasis on electronica, their 2016 album, Bronze Mystic, spans a vast terrain of emotions with a melting pot of sprawling post-rock, krautrock vibes, John Carpenter-style soundscapes and huge beats that you just can’t help but boogie to.

Delivering an audio-visual treat in the form of two tracks, created in collaboration with Phil Chennells and Soundhog, the band tell us: “Expect contorted futurism, from the depths of Welsh lockdown.” With the promise of new material on the horizon, we can’t wait to see what kind of mood Gallops are in, and we can’t wait to welcome them back to Roadburn.

Gallops will perform at Roadburn Redux between April 16-18.
