It’s been a good long while since Gnod first dropped out with White Hills… so we figured that now would be as good a time as any to celebrate this happy union with a special performance. The mind-bending collaboration was first released on vinyl in 2015 via Rocket Recordings and the magnificent Gnod Drop Out With White Hills will see a brand new reissue through Thrill Jockey on March 21 to coincide with this monumental Roadburn performance.

Our history with both bands stretches back over many years – New York’s White Hills made their Roadburn debut way back in 2009 with Manchester’s Gnod following in 2012. Both bands have returned to the Roadburn stage over the years as their creative paths have taken them into all kinds of new territories and celebrated sonic reveries. Seemingly magnetic forces keep bringing these two entities into each other’s orbits, but most notably the two convened in 2010 when they crafted the mesmerising album that we’re joining forces to honour this coming April.

Heads will have a field day watching this psychedelic juggernaut come into land in Tilburg. Elongated space rock passages give way to bite-sized interludes of cosmic nuggets as these two bands take on space, time, and life itself. Listening at home is a trip, but experiencing it live replete with Gnod’s masterful command of undulating psychedelia and White Hills’ dazzling iridescence is sure to be something else entirely.

The time is nigh, Gnod and White Hills are preparing to descend upon Roadburn for a truly  unforgettable performance. Gnod may have been dropping out with White Hills for many years now, but for those less experienced, remember to drop out responsibly…
