Haunted Plasma were introduced to the world at Roadburn Redux – the online edition of the festival that took place online back in 2021. Beamed into our homes through our black mirrors of various shapes and sizes, Haunted Plasma captivated a global audience with their psychedelic take on black metal that somehow conjured up a mirage of a late night dance party at a goth club. With all this in mind, it makes sense that their first live outing outside of Finland should also be with us at Roadburn. We can’t claim to have birthed this extraordinary collaboration of musicians, but we do consider it our responsibility to continue the important work of introducing Haunted Plasma to the world.
Having released their debut album earlier this year, the band have been making serious inroads in this quest themselves. Their otherworldly, dystopian dreamscapes combined with driving synths and forceful heaviness is a potent combination. Featuring some of the finest minds in the Finnish underground, the core of Haunted Plasma is Juho Vanhanen (Oranssi Pazuzu, Grave Pleasures), Timo Kaukolampi (K-X-P, Op:l Bastards) and Tomi Leppänen (Circle, Aavikko, K-X-P).
The band comment: “We are liberated futurists, embracing free-form and natural composition, mirroring the merciless forces of cosmic creation. We have a motto to stay true to our feelings, to spawn a sound that’s never been heard before. Servants of music. Energizing, radical and pure”
Round out your time at Roadburn with an out of this world experience with Haunted Plasma.
