Take a dose of LSD and the Search for God at Roadburn 2020

Hypnotic, tripped-out shoegaze with a distinctly West Coast flavor, San Francisco’s LSD and the Search for God gathered a cult-like following within the psychedelic underground by dosing audiences with lysergic performances. They’ve taken a dreamy noise delightfully reminiscent of Creation Records in its heyday (think My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Ride), or even Spacemen 3, and made it all their own.

Their self-titled EP (2007) is the stuff of budding legend, built upon swirling, reverb-drenched guitar chords, hazy, fuzzed-out pop melodies, playfully flirtatious boy/girl vocals, and beautiful vocal harmonies which euphorically travel through opiated and otherworldly drones. Almost nine years later, LSD and the Search For God blasted into partly unknown territory with the release of Heaven Is a Place – the band’s sophomore EP – which solidified their rightful position as the sonic harbingers of all things shoegazey and ethereal.

LSD and the Search for God will finally return to Europe after their last tour in 2016, and we jumped at the chance to invite them for Friday, 17 April, as we want to tune into their must-see bliss. Please, let LSD and the Search for God turn you on – the band will make totally clear why their impressive live reputation has made them underground darlings, and will expand Roadburn’s take on psychedelica even farther.
