Icelandic psych/prog explorers Lucy In Blue to stun Roadburn 2019

In keeping with tradition, we have our eyes peeled and our ears tuned to the burgeoning Icelandic underground. Over the years, we’ve brought the thriving Icelandic Black Metal scene to Roadburn, but also the likes of Une Misère, Kælan Mikla and The Vintage Caravan, among others. All these bands have been constantly talking about Lucy in Blue, Iceland’s psychedelic/prog explorers, as an absolute no brainer for Roadburn.

When we first engaged Lucy in Blue a few years ago — in the dead of night at Eistnaflug 2016 — these four youngsters showed so much promise that it would be only a matter of time for them playing Roadburn. In the past two years, Lucy In Blue came to full fruition as their sophomore album, In Flight, will prove. The album is even slated for release through Norway’s Karisma Records at Roadburn 2019. Their evolution has led them to a crucial point. Lucy In Blue’s time is now, indeed!

Veering effortlessly into Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Camel territory, the band will stun Roadburn on Sunday, April 14. Showcasing a deep love for psychedelic soundscapes and the progressive songwriting of the 1970s, their sound is steeped in a modern sensibility as well. We expect the In Flight album launch to be something truly special for the 2019 festival. Please don’t miss out as Lucy in Blue are way out there with Sherpa, Gösta Berlings Saga, Black Bombaim and Mythic Sunship — all of whom will expand minds at Roadburn 2019.
