Okkultokrati will perform as part of James Kent’s curated event at Roadburn 2020

Okkultokrati have shaped modern punk into their own unique, captivating design. The leather-clad snarl of their 2016 album, Raspberry Dawn caught our ear back then, and yet to date they’ve not made an appearance with us at Roadburn. However, one of our two 2020 curators had their eye on the Norwegian noisemakers from the get go, so it is with great pleasure that we can announce that Okkultokrati will be making their Roadburn debut as part of James Kent’s curation.

Unafraid to embrace influences from multiple genres, Okkultokrati created a hardcore punk meets gothic synth dance party mash up of future garage rock anthems that is equal measures electrifying and refreshing. On their upcoming, as yet untitled fifth album, Okkultokrati have made the solemn promise that it will be deeply rooted in metal. With influences such as Darkthrone and Danzig cited from the get go, we’re intrigued to see which darkened alleyway Okkultokrati will lead us down next. One thing we’re sure of, it’s gonna be a thrill ride!

The band comment: “We’re excited to go back to Tilburg to present our new songs (and some old). Expect nothing but raw power and the most dirty heaviness.”

Of his choice, James Kent comments: “Okkultokrati makes a very unique brand of black metal influenced punk rock that is made even more otherworldly sounding with the addition of haunting layers of synths. A mesmerizing experience.”

Okkultokrati will perform as part of James Kent’s curated event at Roadburn 2020.
