Hangman's Chair & Regarde Les Hommes Tomber join unholy forces for Roadburn

Originally slated to be part of James Kent’s 2020 curation, we couldn’t let this one slip through our fingers. So it’s with great pleasure that we’re announcing a collaborative performance featuring Hangman’s Chair and Regarde Les Hommes Tomber. Hangman’s Chair will also be performing their upcoming new album, A Loner, but will be clocking back in for a second set with their fellow French musicians for this very special show.

Originally commissioned by Red Bull, this winning combination has been witnessed just once before in Paris back in 2019. With an unexpected addition to their rehearsal time thanks to the pandemic, we can expect some additional collaborative material to complement the previously performed tracks making this already exciting performance just that little bit more special.

Regarde Les Hommes Tomber said: “Roadburn was one of the first major international events to trust Regarde Les Hommes Tomber back in 2014 as we were still a young band. Last year, when everything collapsed, we had the honor to offer a special set for Roadburn Redux, performing our new album « Ascension » in its entirety. In 2022 we’ll be over the moon to gather back with our brothers from Hangman’s Chair to reactivate and re-work the nine-headed monster for one very special night, « redefining heaviness » alongside so many talented and anticipated acts from all over the world. We’re excited and committed to make this reunion with Roadburn’s audience a total communion, in distorsion, heaviness and despair.”

Whilst Hangman’s Chair added: “Initially, our collaboration was meant to be a one-off project and remain a unique experience but when the Roadburn made the call, we felt it was time to reunite the nine-headed-Hydra. Three years after the Major Arcana festival in Paris, we are proud to bring our Hydra monster to Tilburg –  with some surprises thrown in.”

The abrasive death-sludge-black metal hybrid of Regarde Les Hommes Tomber will combine with the shimmering, danceable doom of Hangman’s Chair to create an unholy experience for all who witness it. And this April, that invitation extends to us lucky enough to be at Roadburn.
