Much of Saetia’s history can be traced through dark and/or grainy Youtube videos that make you realise just how long ago 1997 really was. They burned bright and broke up within two years of their first show but their influence left a mark on the screamo scene that followed in their wake. When they returned to playing live shows a few years ago after more than two decades away, they did so without huge fanfare, although the announcements generated excited ripples amongst ever-patient fans who had long given up hope of seeing them reform. Their first run of sold out shows raised thousands for local charities and were the catalyst for further sporadic but hugely popular live outings. One such outing that can now be added to the calendar is in Tilburg, The Netherlands on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
They comment: “When Saetia was invited to play Roadburn this year we couldn’t say “Yes” fast enough. We are incredibly honored to be part of the 2026 lineup and can’t wait to play this legendary festival.”
We’re inclined to bat the ‘legendary’ tag back at them, such is the impact of their significant contributions to the history of hardcore and screamo. Let’s give them the welcome they deserve when they finally make their way over to join us at Roadburn next Spring.
