Supplicate

Supplicate is a creative outlet for New Orleans-based musician, Andy Gibbs. As a guitarist in Thou Andy is adept at exploring heaviness, however in his work as Supplicate, the heaviness takes on a different form. In the ever-growing space where electronics and guitars intersect, Andy traverses many different sonic landscapes with apparent ease. We’re delighted to host Andy for Supplicate’s first ever European show at Roadburn 2025. 

Offering up a personal and at times vulnerable exploration in sound on his latest release, Skulk, Supplicate veers into darker beats and ominous sounds just as comfortably as when Andy turns his face to the light with ethereal sounds and mellifluous beauty.

Of his upcoming Roadburn performance Andy comments:

“With Supplicate, I’ve really tried to embrace sounds that felt off-limits to me within Thou, without worrying so much about which box those sounds fit neatly in. Roadburners are no strangers to this kind of experimentation and exploration around the edges of genre conventions, and I’m honored and excited to present my vision to them.”

With the promise of new material interspersed with cuts from Skulk with more focus on vocals and songwriting, a new chapter for Supplicate will begin to unfold at Roadburn.
