COMMISSIONED: TAU with special guest Pól Brennan present Dream Awake

Tau are bringing their transcendental visions to Roadburn Redux, with an exclusive two-part set entitled Dream Awake, that will include a special guest appearance from Clannad’s Pól Brennan.

Led by Dubliner Sean Mulrooney, Tau’s hypnotic neo-folk transports listeners on a meditative voyage, taking in shamanic chants, psychedelic flourishes and traditional folk elements, from Irish to Meso America. Their latest release, the 2020 EP Seanoiri Naofa, translates from Gaelic as ‘sacred ancestors’, and was inspired in part by the Sovereignty Goddess Queen Méabh.

Tau were due to perform at Roadburn Festival last year, and we are thrilled that they will now present Dream Awake at Roadburn Redux. This exclusive performance will journey through past , present and future material woven into the now, including some songs that will be performed live for the very first time.

Says Sean Mulrooney: “We are honored to be given an opportunity to do something special. We will be going down the deep well of our back catalogue, as well bringing forth some of the reimagined Irish Indigenous music that is coming through us at this time. This particular formation of Tau are all from the land of Eriú, and we will be broadcasting from Dublin. For the second part of the set, we will also be joined by one of the legends of Irish music, Pól Brennan from Clannad.”

May we walk in beauty. Music is medicine.
