Warhorse ride into Tilburg for 2022 performance

Doom and gloom will be in full effect when Warhorse ride into Roadburn for the 2022 festivities. The group, which reactivated in 2019 to perform a tribute to late guitarist Todd Laskowski, was originally active in the late 1990s through early 2000s, spending over a decade in a defunct state.

Founding members Jerry Orne (vocals/bass) and drummer Mike Hubbard connected with Grief guitarist Terry Savastano following Laskowski’s tenure in the band, ensuring that the band’s lineage of depressing, doomed noisemakers remained solidly intact. Their debut album,  As Heaven Turns To Ash, was released in September 2001, serving as the demoralizing soundtrack of the time.

As if summoned by the universe, Warhorse’s return heralds some of the darkest times the modern world has known. A more fitting soundtrack to the times there could not be, but neither could there be a more fitting audience. Warhorse will bring their classic material to the Roadburn stage on April 22 2022, over 20 years after it was first released.

The band say: “What started as a one-off tribute to Todd’s passing has become so much more. We are overwhelmed by the response to us playing live again, and the few shows we have done have been truly amazing. Finally getting to play at Roadburn has given us something to focus on during the past year and a half, and it’s a pretty emotional event for us. We are extremely honored to be included among so many great artists, and we plan to make this performance something that we, and our fans, will never forget.“
