Wayfarer will play tracks from A Romance With Violence at Roadburn Redux

Wayfarer will be making an appearance at Roadburn this year with a virtual live set, where the Denver-based quartet will perform tracks from their latest album A Romance With Violence for the very first time.

During Roadburn 2019, Wayfarer made a cameo appearance at the Little Devil – too irresistible a chance for us to pass up including them in Roadburn, so we squeezed them into the programme. Since then, their fourth album A Romance With Violence had a huge impact on the Roadburn community when it was released last October, and it also certified the band as one of the most unique and exciting prospects in the underground scene right now.

Evoking scenes of saloon bar brawls and dusty dirt roads tracked in blood, A Romance With Violence blends gloomy Americana with black metal at its most expansive for an intense expedition through the darkest frontiers of the American West. From the thundering rumbles of The Crimson Rider to the dusty twangs of Vaudeville; almost the perfect soundtrack to a Western envisioned by Cormac McCarthy – and we can’t wait to see it brought to life.

Wayfarer’s Shane McCarthy comments: “We are honored to be invited by Roadburn to take part in this event. We’ve been eager to bring material from ‘A Romance With Violence’ to the stage, and as the insanity of the world rolls on there is no better place to do so than here. Roadburn have always set a high water mark for creativity, innovation and connection through music – and it is great to see them continue to do so even as this whole industry is in tumult. We look forward to kicking off the performing cycle for ‘Romance’ on your screens this April.”

Wayfarer will play tracks from A Romance With Violence at Roadburn Redux between April 16-18.
