Youniss Ahamad is a Belgian-based artist that blends a mix of hip hop, experimental noise and post-punk with his poetic commentary on his experience as a black person living in a capitalist society with the roots of its colonial history very clearly visible. We’re delighted to have him bringing his propulsive and vital music to Roadburn this coming April.

Emerging in a post-pandemic world, Youniss’s music resonated with an audience that was restless at best, and disenfranchised and hopeless at worst. Despite the heaviness of the subject matter and the starkness of his confrontational edge, Youniss injects real human heart and soul into his hypnotic music, creating a space for forward motion, galvanising action, and a rejection of apathy.

Of his upcoming Roadburn performance, Youniss commented: “The last two years I have explored performance and viscerality with my music. I cannot wait to delve into my catalogue to bring an even more intense and energetic show to Roadburn.

Join us in welcoming this urgent and commanding artist to the Roadburn fold; we can’t wait to experience his creations live and in the flesh.
