De Pont
Donderdag 17 april presenteren PUNCH. en OFFROAD Autarkh in De Pont Museum. Het muzikale collectief reageert op de tentoonstelling van Roni Horn, Pair Field, a new installation. Autarkh, Autarkh III en Autarkh Collective staan bekend om experimentele klanken, die ze voor het eerst laten klinken in een museum. Herinterpretatie, herschikking en hercontextualisatie van eigen werk staan centraal in het creatieve proces – het collectief reageert daarom op de herinstallatie van Roni Horn’s Pair Field (1991).
In de tentoonstelling van Roni Horn vind je achttien identieke sculpturenparen van brons en staal. Waar de paren voorheen in aparte ruimtes stonden, staan ze nu in een grote zaal. Een herinterpretatie dus, waarbij de toeschouwer een nieuw spel speelt met herkenning en beleving. Daar zal Autarkh Collective op gaan reageren, door ook melodieën en patronen te spiegelen in hun improvisaties. Tijdens een artist talk zullen zij dieper ingaan op hun achtergrond, hun artistieke proces en de manieren waarop zij met het thema’s van Roni Horn hebben gewerkt.

The musical collective responds to the exhibition Pair Field, a new installation by Roni Horn. Autarkh, Autarkh III, and Autarkh Collective are known for their experimental sounds, which they will perform for the first time in a museum setting. Reinterpretation, rearrangement, and recontextualization of their own work are central to their creative process—making their response to the reinstallation of Roni Horn’s Pair Field (1991) all the more fitting.
Roni Horn’s exhibition features eighteen identical pairs of sculptures made of bronze and steel. Whereas these pairs were previously shown in separate rooms, they are now displayed together in a single large gallery. This reinterpretation invites the viewer to engage in a new game of recognition and perception. Autarkh Collective will respond to this by mirroring melodies and patterns in their improvisations. During an artist talk, they will delve deeper into their background, artistic process, and the ways in which they have engaged with the themes in Roni Horn’s work.
