BENEFITS kicked off 2022 with their scathing single Meat Teeth, which – if nothing else – laid out their uncompromising thoughts about being a product of and participant in modern day Britain. Our ears pricked up… the vitriolic vocal delivery over discordant feedback and sparse noise was gleefully acerbic. Right up our street! We tried to get them for Roadburn 2023, but scheduling got in the way, so a year on, we’re thrilled to announce that Benefits will make their Roadburn debut with us this coming April.

They tell us: “Roadburn is a total dream festival to play for us. We’ve been there as fans so to come back and play it as a band is genuinely amazing. We like to align ourselves to events and bands that are forward thinking and attempt to push the boundaries, for that reason alone, we can’t wait to bring our noise to Tilburg.”

Fresh off a UK tour with Empire State Bastard and still riding high on the accolades for their debut full length, Nails, Benefits are set to bring their tales of defiance and ‘fuck you’ attitude to Tilburg – in all their raw and unpolished glory. Frontman Kingsley Hall is disarmingly charming in person, but on record he’s every inch the mordacious mouthpiece, frothing with venomous rage at the powers that be, the miserable inevitability of sleepwalking into further decline. Nails captures the collective feeling of futility, the misery of being a pawn in a losing game, and the intoxicating thrill of defiance.
