Nine years after announcing they’d be going on an indefinite hiatus, Kylesa will return to the stage at Roadburn 2025. This coming April will see the sludge titans return to the live shows and the community that nurtured them for fifteen years; where better to celebrate coming full circle than with us at Roadburn. We’re thrilled to host the first European show from Kylesa in over a decade.

Whether you leaned more towards their sludgier side or their psychedelic sounds, Kylesa were a force to be reckoned with, and they became a live favourite for many in the Roadburn scene. Kylesa really left their mark on heavy music over the course of seven studio albums, and countless tours around the globe. Led by the guitar/vocal duo of Laura Pleasants and Phillip Cope, Kylesa cemented their place as key figures in the Georgia metal scene – and beyond.

When we first caught wind of activity in the Kylesa camp earlier this year, we assumed that a long-awaited album reissue campaign was kicking into gear. But soon news reached us that things were a little more serious than that: the band was getting back together and shows were being talked about. Not only that, but that they were holding on to a hope that Roadburn could host their homecoming party on the European side of things. Who are we to refuse?

“We are thrilled after ten years away to be returning to the fold with Kylesa,” Laura tells us, “We can’t think of a better place than Roadburn to reintroduce ourselves, it is a festival whose dedication to all things heavy and experimental is legendary.”

Please join us in giving a real Roadburn welcome to Kylesa.
