Taiwanese brothers, Hom Yu and Jiun Chi unite under the name Mong Tong to create a mesmerising take on psychedelia. They’ll be bringing their intoxicating sounds all the way to Tilburg this April as Mong Tong take to the Roadburn stage.
Look no further than their latest album, Mongkok Duel, for a demonstration of how deftly they weave together sounds from South-East Asia with more traditional psych motifs from the 60s and 70s creating something fresh and otherworldly. For the last six years, the duo has been offering up their shimmering, hypnotic visions, but it has been in the post-pandemic world with broader touring possibilities that has seen their star has truly begun to ascend.
With their Roadburn debut on the horizon, the band told us: “We are excited and super stoked to be performing at Roadburn Festival in 2025, as it’s one of the most respected and influential music festivals in the world, known for its incredible lineup and visionary atmosphere. The festival resonates even in Taiwan”
With accolades and awards coming their way in abundance, we’re sure that Mong Tong will leave their mark on Roadburn 2025.
