Dan Meyer will be most familiar to Roadburners as one quarter of ecstatic black metal band Agriculture. But those amongst us who have kept their ear to the ground may well have already gotten acquainted with his solo work. Given that his musical DNA runs thorough both projects, some similarities can of course be found – but striking out on his own lays bare Dan’s more raw and vulnerable moments. His debut album, Kneeling, is well worth a listen.
At turns warm and enveloping, and in other moments stark and desolate, Dan embraces duality in his solo missives. Fuzzed up and yet somehow crystal clear, Dan invites you to his inner world through these songs.
He comments:
‘It’s an absolute honor to get to play a solo set at Roadburn. Since we finished the last Agriculture record, I’ve been pushing myself to finish a bunch of material for a new solo record and I’m really excited for this to be an opportunity to try a bunch of it out for the first time. I can’t wait’
You are humbly invited to join Dan for a Sunday sermon of his solo explorations this April.
