Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat have been on hiatus for a number of years, but they’ve never stepped out of rotation at Roadburn HQ. Founded by Stef Heeren, the project eventually expanded into a full band as their sound developed and influence spread. Hewers of Wood and Drawers of Water sits in the middle of their discography, an album that is highly acclaimed and set for a fifteenth anniversary reissue in 2026. To mark this occasion – and their return to live performance – Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat will make their Roadburn debut.
With their earlier work firmly rooted in hypnotic dark folk, Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat evolved to embrace more electronic elements as their releases unfolded. As the band set down their tools for a while, Stef continued this thread within his work in Use Knife (who may be familiar to many Roadburners thanks to their stunning 2024 performance).
Of their upcoming performance the band comments: “The year 2026 will see KTAOABC re-activate itself for some special occasions. Roadburn is definitely a very special one and we are so much looking forward to playing the festival for the first time in the band’s history!”
You have plenty of time before April rolls around to get familiar with their discography and embrace their sonic witchcraft, then join us for this special ritual.
