Kollaps set to bring cold, industrial vibes to Roadburn

When at Roadburn, it’s nice to have options. And whilst we’re looking forward to wrapping the entire Roadburn community in a warm embrace this April, you may be pleased to hear there are alternatives to the warm and fuzzies on offer. Sometimes we’re inclined to seek out the sounds that send us floating away on a cloudlike dream and sometimes we want to stare down the bleakness of reality and take whatever it throws back at us. If you’re more likely to lean toward the latter, Kollaps may be just what you need.

The cold industrial vision of this Australian-born trio is captured on 2019’s Mechanical Christ with new material promised for early 2022. Taking the meaning of ‘industrial’ quite literally, they have previously utilised materials such as scrap metal and steel plates to complement more traditional instruments. So, if you’d rather sink into nihilism then Kollaps will be at Roadburn to do so right alongside you.

Of their upcoming performance, the band comment:

“The cultural significance of Roadburn in Europe and throughout the rest of the world is no secret and we are honoured to now share our own history with the festival”.
