Join us in welcoming the wild and unrestrained spirit of Alda to Roadburn 2018

The Pacific Northwest has long been known to be a fertile region for a specific sort of black metal. Much as their Norwegian cousins sought to reconnect with their pre-Christian roots through music of pagan origin, the Cascadian black metal community has spent decades celebrating its environment and those who were there before European colonists arrived, eternally altering the land.

One of our top picks from this community, Alda, will finally make their Roadburn debut in 2018. With groundbreaking albums Tahoma and Passage, Alda has peeled back the majesty of the region with a fusion of neofolk’s pristine guitar work and black metal’s atmospheric splendor that works to elevate the best of each world. Those longing for the spirit of the mountains and the whispering of the creeks need only listen between the notes in Alda’s potent musical brew to find voices of the past calling forth to the present.

Join us in welcoming the wild and unrestrained spirit of Alda to Roadburn on Sunday, 22 April at 013 venue as part of Roadburn 2018’s triumphant lineup.
