Grave Pleasures to perform at Roadburn 2018 as part of Jacob Bannon's curation

Further to our earlier confirmation of their performance, we can now confirm that Grave Pleasures will in fact perform as part of Jacob Bannon‘s curation, at Roadburn 2018.

Formed in 2010 as their previous incarnation, Beastmilk, they released a demo followed by an EP, and later debut full-length Climax – a record that floored listeners everywhere. Following Johan Snell and Paile‘s departure from the group, Mat McNerney and Valtteri Arino continued on with the band renaming it Grave Pleasures.

With new members they released their debut album Dreamcrash a few months later. After some touring and festival appearances a new lineup took root. With Mat and Valtteri being joined by Juho Vanhanen (Oranssi Pazuzu), Aleksi Kiiskilä (ex- Kohu 63), and Rainer Tuomikanto (Ajattara, ex- Shining Swe). This lineup of Grave Pleasures released their fantastic Motherblood album earlier this year.

“I was introduced to Mat and company just prior to the recording of Beastmilk’s “Climax” album. I have been a fan of their infectious work ever since. Watching the band evolve over the last decade has been incredible. They perservered through creative trials and tribulations to become such a great band. It is truly an honor to be able to present them as part of my curation of Roadburn 2018.”

Grave Pleasures will now perform Friday, 20 April on the main stage as part of Jacob Bannon’s curation.

Date: April 20
