The improbably named IAN are becoming quite the force in the British underground of late. Their 2025 debut album, Come On Everybody, Let’s Do Nothing! has been slowburning its way into the ears, playlists and recommendations of discerning fans of post-metal. Comprising friendships whose roots reach back decades, IAN masterfully blend haunting cello with aggressive riffs and anguished screams. Crescendo after crescendo arrives to bring in another wave of cinematic yet immediate IAN-ness.
Those who have had the good fortune to see them in action will attest to their live presence, but to date that experience has been confined to UK shores. We’ve invited IAN to bring it over the channel and make their mainland debut at Roadburn 2027. With the promise of new music on the horizon, it could just be that 2027 is starting to look like IAN’s year.
They say: “As a band we can often struggle to be sincere, but we are genuinely so excited at being asked to perform at Roadburn 2027 and to experience the community, camaraderie and cacophony that this special festival is famed for.
“We can’t wait to play songs from our debut release ‘Come on Everybody! Let’s Do Nothing!’, alongside some new tracks from our forthcoming second album (keep your eyes peeled for details soon). And of course, we’re really looking forward to checking out all the other artists we’ll be sharing the stage with. See you all in April!”
