Roadburn is thrilled to announce that billy woods will make his Roadburn debut in 2026. Having long been on our radar, his latest album, Golliwog, was the sign we needed to ensure that his trajectory and ours would finally entwine. Blending ambient sounds with nightmarish samples, overlaid with woods’ incendiary rapping – as soon as we heard it we knew this would be a perfect fit for Roadburn. And so it has come to pass, billy woods will be with us this coming April.
Hailing from the East Coast of the United States, billy already has a rich catalogue of work to his name; he’s a sharp observer and a keen collaborator (Maps, his album with Kenny Segal, and Brass with Moor Mother are well worth a listen for the curious). Those among us fortunate enough to have seen his live shows know that he will bring something distinctive and daring to the Roadburn stage. These latest songs of his are ghostly, bonechilling missives yet remain punchy and urgent in a way that he makes seem effortless.
