For years we’ve held a deep admiration for Cave – their 2019 Roadburn set still echoes through the festival’s collective memory. So when the chance arose to welcome Cooper Crain back to Tilburg, this time with Bitchin Bajas alongside Rob Frye and Daniel Quinlivan, there was no hesitation. Some things just fall perfectly into place.
Across the past fifteen years, Bitchin Bajas, who hail from Chicago, have carved out a radiant corner of the modern psychedelic cosmos. Their hypnotic minimalism, kosmische drift, and quietly subversive sense of repetition have secured them a place in the lineage of psych and krautrock explorers – yet they remain entirely their own. Their music breathes, expands, shimmers; check out their latest album Inland See to understand what we mean.
From analogue-synth spirals to gently propulsive rhythmic mantras, Bitchin Bajas build sound worlds that feel both timeless and futuristic. It’s an approach that resonates deeply with Roadburn’s spirit of discovery and transformation; their arrival feels not just fitting, but vital.
As the band told us: “We are excited to be performing at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg – an inspiring, boundary-pushing celebration of music and creativity that we are truly honored to be a part of.” That excitement is absolutely mutual. We are thrilled to welcome Bitchin Bajas to Roadburn 2026 and to immerse ourselves in the slow-burn magic they conjure.
