We heard you; when we announced billy woods for Roadburn a few weeks back, we saw those questions about ELUCID. And it just so happens that ELUCID is ready, willing and available to join us at Roadburn alongside his Armand Hammer comrade, billy woods.
For those of you not yet among the chorus of ELUCID appreciators, we highly recommend you start with his 2022 album, I Told Bessie. There you will find him at his best as he explores a particular branch of his family tree: his relationship with his paternal grandmother, the eponymous Bessie. As a frequent collaborator, several contributors bring additional flavours to his work, but ELUCID’s off-kilter, distinctive voice remains at the centre.
Bessie’s death hasn’t left him absent of her presence; her impact lives on and his work continues to be an acknowledgement of her guidance and support. The kaleidoscopic possibilities of heaviness continue to evolve at Roadburn, and this year, ELUCID will bring his take to the stage.
