This month has witnessed the latest release from prolific Colombian artist, Filmmaker. Diffractions is a voyage into a world built from electronics, synths and hypnotic rhythms. In keeping with much of his vast discography, his work is both dynamic and minimalist in that no note goes unconsidered; nothing is wasted, there is no extraneous fluff to speak of.
Having made his Roadburn debut in 2023, we’re thrilled to welcome Filmmaker back to the festival for this year. Hailing from Medellín but making his presence felt globally, Filmmaker is as at home in a subterranean dungeon as he is in a neon-lit discotheque. Similarly, he can conjure his sonic offerings via analog equipment or by manipulation in the digital ether; his music can transcend and transform. His dexterity sees him draw from pools of noise, industrial soundscapes and the dancefloor in equal measure.
