Fluisteraars presents: Manifestaties van de Ontworteling
For a section of the Roadburn audience, we know that their dreams will be coming true this April as we host a very exclusive (and rare!) show from FLUISTERAARS – we announced that back in 2023. But you know us by now, if we can do something special, we may as well push the boat out and aim for something extra-special. So, it is with great pleasure that we can announce a second Fluisteraars set – and it might not be quite what you’re expecting…
The show will be titled Manifestaties van de Ontworteling, which for the non-Dutch speakers amongst us translates to Manifestations of the Uprooting. It ties in with the release of a brand new Fluisteraars album of the same name – but it might not be what you’re used to coming from them. Manifestaties van de Ontworteling is an experimental soundscape album yet still retains the disquieting Fluisteraars atmosphere that we’ve grown accustomed to.
The album raises questions about the juxtaposition of human embellishment upon the Earth’s natural landscapes; how our man-made technologies and conveniences scar the wilderness and natural beauty of the world around us. Fluisteraars explore the road ahead and question whether the future holds a return to living in the here and now, being in touch with our own inner wilderness. They pose the question: “is the decay of beauty, which has come from comfort and laziness, not scary and ugly, but rather the most beautiful aesthetic?”
Immerse yourself in these existential questions and follow and Fluisteraars lead us into the unknown.
