Forest Swords

Roadburn is pleased to welcome FOREST SWORDS to the 2024 edition of the festival. The electronic producer (known to his friends and family as Matthew Barnes), hails from Liverpool and will be making the trip to Tilburg to share his ghostly missives. 

Drawing influence from the bleak tones of a post-industrial North, Forest Swords crafts a patchwork of sonic elements that fuse together in an intricate tapestry of interwoven sounds and textures. His latest release, Bolted, has an ominous thread running through its spectral soundscapes that brings to mind desolate landscapes and creeping dread. 

Of his upcoming Roadburn performance, he says: “Roadburn has been a festival I’ve always wanted to visit and is known for being open minded and welcoming so I’m thrilled to be playing a live set there in support of my latest record, Bolted. As a music fan I can’t wait to spend the weekend there experiencing it with everyone.”
