It’s a skill to create an album chock full of songs that sound like instant classics, familiar tunes that have surely been the soundtrack to a former life – and yet still sound fresh and vital. HOME FRONT have done exactly that on their debut album, Games of Power (and on follow up EP, Nation). Hailing from Edmonton, Canada, Home Front swept through Europe earlier this year, bringing their hook-laden post-punk to eager European fans. They’ll be returning in the Spring and will be gracing us with their presence at Roadburn – we can’t wait.

Fusing synth-led harmonics with snarling punk attitude, Home Front are a deliciously rousing prospect. It’s time to raise your fist in the air and move your body – Home Front are bringing their new wave anthems to Tilburg; get on board with this particular hype train – it’s heading somewhere really quite exciting. Evoking distant echoes of the eighties and binding them up with a modern take on punk and new wave, Home Front have crafted a small but perfectly formed catalogue of emotionally charged proclamations.
