Japanese psychedelic trio, Kuunatic, will make their Roadburn debut this April. With their debut album Gate of Klüna having already ushered us into their head-spinning world, their soon-to-arrive sophomore album, Wheels of Ömon promises to take things to a stratospheric level. We couldn’t resist inviting them to Roadburn, but where they’ll take us from here is anybody’s guess…

Often described as “tribal-psych” the three women behind Kuunatic utilise traditional Japanese instruments, ritual drumming and high concept sci-fi mythology to construct the framework upon which their trippy missives are laced through. Just as you think you have a grasp on what they’re all about, they slither through your fingers, distorting your preconceptions as they defy logic, transcend genre and writhe out of the clutches of easy categorisation.

They say: “We’re over the moon! Performing at the Roadburn Festival has been one of our dreams and the time has finally come! We’ll be performing new songs from our upcoming album “Wheels of Ömon”, and we hope you’re ready to journey to our planet, Kuurandia, in Tilburg!”

Prepare for a psychedelic journey into the unknown as Kuunatic set their sights on Roadburn and beyond.
