Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs have been on our radar for a number of years; we’ve even come tantalisingly close to snagging them in years gone by. And yet it has taken us – somehow – until this year to seal the deal and have this British five-piece take the trip to Tilburg to join us at Roadburn. Not only that, they’ll be gifting us a full run-through of their latest album, Death Hilarious, which will be one year old come April.
Part sludgy riffs, part deranged noise rock, all heart, Pigs x7 found a home with Rocket Recordings several years back and have been delighting audiences with their off-kilter tunes ever since. Perhaps you’ve already had the chance to catch them live, so you know what sort of treat we’re in for, but Death Hilarious in its entirety for the first time ever gives us extra cause for anticipation. The album has been magnetic for accolades across the globe – its scope encompasses heavy riffs and psychedelic twists.
The band tells us: “We first came to Roadburn as audience members well over a decade ago and looking back it feels like a formative part of the band’s existence. There aren’t many festivals that match its sense of community or quality of curation. We’ll see you there. Let’s rock.”
Whether they’re at the apex of a brain-spinning propulsion of climactic riffing, or sending us skyward with a hypnotic swirl of psych, we’re thrilled to be joined by Pigs x7 for this special show. Please join us in giving them a true Roadburn welcome.
