In October 2024, as the skies darkened and the days started to shorten, RÓIS released her latest offering: nine tracks, 27 minutes of haunting sorrow going by the name of Mo Léan. Translated from her native Irish, My Pain is an appropriate title for a collection of songs that are steeped in grief, saturated by sadness. This April, RÓIS will bring her lamentations and sonic offerings to Roadburn.
Those of us that enjoy being swept along in an ethereal drift will find plenty to occupy us; RÓIS blends the organic with the electronic, the past and the present – a liminal traveller with aeons of tales to tell. The album features both new, original compositions as well as reimaginings of traditional songs and hymns, each deployed to further detail the outer reaches of existential explorations on life, death and catharsis.
With the promise of no two shows ever being the same, even if you have been blessed by the alchemical force of RÓIS already, there will surely be something new to discover when she arrives on the Roadburn stage this coming April.
