We’re over the moon to welcome the experimental and forward-thinking sounds of SANAM to the festival. Hailing from Beirut, their captivating take on rock is fused with psychedelic flourishes and angular jazz that captures the frenetic energy of their lives in modern day Lebanon.
Over the last few years, their debut album has seen them take their first forays into Europe and North America, capturing the hearts of audiences as they go. Having caught the discerning ear of the folks over at Constellation, their sophomore album landed in September 2025 with more than a frisson of excitement and anticipation.
Folklore is a vehicle for the voices of ordinary people, and through their music SANAM capture not only their own lived experiences of life in a tumultuous environment, but those of their ancestors and generations before them. Through original compositions, traditional Egyptian songs, slivers of poetry, and scraps of sound, SANAM have created a patchwork of life that spans a vast amount of time and a vast array of experiences, from the primal to the transcendent They will bring all of this – and more – to Roadburn, for what promises to be an unforgettable performance.
