SONJA put themselves on the map – signalling the beginning of something fierce – with the release of their debut full length, Loud Arriver, in 2022. They’ll be doing something similar for us when they play The Spark, our annual Roadburn kick-off party on Wednesday, April 17! 

The brainchild of guitarist Melissa Moore, Sonja is an effervescent jolt of electricity that we’re thrilled to welcome to the festival. Channelling all the best bits of NWOBHM or NWOTHM or whatever you may prefer to call it these days; Sonja has classic heavy metal chops in abundance and more than enough charm and charisma to serve as the cherry on top. The Philly-based trio will be heading to Europe this spring, and we can’t wait to have them be part of our welcoming committee as the doors open for Roadburn 2024.

We cannot recommend Loud Arriver enough – the perfect soundtrack for some drinks with old friends and throwing your fists in the air. See you down the front.
