Prog rock / neo-jazz / avant-garde oddity Steamboat Switzerland are from – you never guessed it – Switzerland. They however summon a sound far less self-explanatory: restless, free-form experimental rock compositions that seem to abide to a dream logic more so than any sort of predictable song structure – content in constant metamorphosis.
Truly astonishing, almost like a Moebius art piece transposed into music. Dominik Blum (Hammond), Marino Pliakas (bass guitar), Lucas Niggli (drums) play together with a playful inquisition that’s infectious, reinventing quote unquote ‘rock’ on the spot – an aquatic oasis of frequency, texture and pulse.
