Cold and mechanical sometimes, brutally visceral on some other parts, Italian quartet Syk are hard to get a grip on, in a good way – or, actually, in a very Meshuggah/Gojira kind of way. They stormed through new metallic grounds bravely on their debut I-Optikon, always led by firebrand vocalist Dalila Kayros, and will surely storm through the Cul de Sac with the same kind of spirit.
