Trhä will play their first European show at Roadburn 2027. The abundant back catalogue of this somewhat veiled black metal project has existed almost entirely in another world entirely, with its own language, its own rhythm and its own way of being. But come April, Trhä will be fully present here with us in Tilburg for their first show on European soil.
Another creative outlet for Damián Ojeda, Trhä originally started as an anonymous project – to further distance it from Damián’s other work in Sadness and Liminal Dream, amongst others. Although his identity is now known, Trhä retains an air of mystery. With lyrics written in a language (Hadlhaj) that exists within him, the songs of Trhä are imbued with a mysterious, unknowable element that exists in the realm of the fantastical, created in an alternative world entirely of Damian’s own making. As Paysage d’Hiver enthusiasts ourselves here at Roadburn HQ, we salute him for recreating a sliver of that particular eternal winter and combining it with his own unmistakable musical DNA to magick up the music of Trhä.
