Prepare to embark on a dystopian journey with White Ward at Roadburn 2020

We live in a time where music is so often consumed in bite sized chunks; singles, playlists, algorithms all informing the direction and pace of our listening. So it is refreshing to encounter an album that is a whole meal-full, that sounds best imbibed in one sitting, and that demands our full attention. The album we’re referencing is the incredible Love Exchange Failure that White Ward delivered this past September. A bombastic, dynamic and captivating feast of black metal infused with jazz interludes has been served up by White Ward – and we can’t get enough.

So, it is with a huge amount of excitement and an abundance of anticipation, that we’re announcing that White Ward will be performing at Roadburn 2020. Prepare to embark on a dystopian journey that is rooted in the here and now, rather than in the fantasy lands of their previous output. Channelling Bohren And Der Club Of Gore, passages of mournful, reflectiveness sit alongside ferocious blast beats and relentless aggression on the album, and will be brought to life on the Roadburn stage this coming April, in all its slick, noir glory.

The band comments: “Roadburn is a place where you can still feel that music is sacred. It inspires us so much by combining acts that create new milestones and push the global underground culture forward. It is about providing music with its primary role that is often lost in the modern world that suffers from the inflation of values. We are so thrilled to become a part of Roadburn and live through its spirit.”

As they make the journey from Odessa, Ukraine, join us in welcoming White Ward to Roadburn 2020.
