Brace yourselves for the arrival of World Peace at Roadburn. This eight-legged purveyor of powerviolence is preparing to descend upon Tilburg for their Roadburn debut. Should you have had the good fortune to have already seen them live, you may well consider yourself forewarned. For the uninitiated, you can expect a short, sharp introduction to the teachings of World Peace in due course.
Driven by a singular vision and determined to scratch out their own path, the San Francisco band has toured relentlessly, amassing a fanbase and notable vapor trails of hype in their wake. Not ones to be distracted by frivolities, World Peace simply forge on with their guitarless, dual bass frenzy – jam-packed with groove and laced with pure aggression – racking up shows as they go.
‘Uncompromising’ feels like a fair descriptor – sonically, aesthetically and in terms of how they approach their craft. Highly recommended for those of you who believe the only way out is through. For those still on the fence, we simply suggest you Come and See.
